Privnote FAQ
How does Privnote work?
Write a note, get a unique link. When someone opens the link, the note is displayed and immediately destroyed. It can never be read again.
Is this secure?
Notes are encrypted in your browser using AES-256. The encryption key is part of the URL fragment and never sent to any server. This is a client-side demo using localStorage.
Can I see if the note was read?
Once the link is opened, the note is destroyed. If the link no longer works, it means the note was read.
How to Use Our Private Note Tool
Write a confidential message and generate a unique link. When the recipient opens the link, they can read the note — but it self-destructs after being viewed once. The message cannot be read again.
Perfect for sharing passwords, sensitive information, or private messages that you don't want to persist in chat histories or email threads. Once read, the note is permanently deleted.
Why Use Our Private Notes?
It's free, requires no account, and ensures your sensitive messages don't linger in inboxes or chat logs. The self-destructing mechanism guarantees the information is only seen once by the intended recipient.
How secure are the notes?
Notes are stored in your browser's local storage and destroyed after being read once. The encryption key is part of the URL fragment and never transmitted. This is a client-side demo — no data leaves your device.
What happens if the link is never opened?
Notes persist in the creator's browser local storage until read or until browser data is cleared. Since this is a client-side demo, notes are only accessible on the same device where they were created.
